700 Block Park, Downtown Denison
Free
Celebrate the summer solstice with music, creativity, and community spirit during Make Music Day in Downtown Denison on Saturday, June 21.
Part of the international Make Music Day celebration inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique, this free global event invites people of all ages and skill levels to come together through music. Communities across Texas will host performances, workshops, jam sessions, and interactive musical experiences in parks, streets, coffee shops, and public spaces.
Denison’s celebration begins at 11:00 AM at the southeast corner of the 700 Block Park with a community music gathering before the Make Music Day Parade steps off at 11:15 AM. Participants will walk through Downtown Denison along the sidewalks, filling Main Street with joyful sounds and celebration.
Whether you’re a seasoned musician or have never picked up an instrument before, everyone is welcome to participate. Instruments will be provided—just bring your energy and love for music. Attendees will also have the opportunity to pick up a free Local Talent Spotlight CD, featuring music from area artists while supplies last.
This event is free and open to the public.
