Dia de los Muertos 2024

Come celebrate the vibrant Mexican tradition of honoring our dearly departed at the Dia de los Muertos Festival in Denison, Texas! Held at Heritage Park on November 2, 2024, this in-person event offers a full day of culture, color, and celebration. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Mexican culture with colorful altars, also known as ofrendas, set up throughout the festival to honor loved ones who have passed. These beautiful altars, adorned with marigolds, photos, candles, and offerings, are a significant part of Dia de los Muertos and provide a meaningful way for the community to come together.

The day will be filled with traditional music, delicious Mexican cuisine, and lively dances. Enjoy authentic performances from talented artists, including Mi Mariachi Via Mexico, Aztec dancers, the captivating Mayan Eagle Dancer, Cinco de Mayo Dancers, and more! These performances will bring the rich history and cultural traditions of Mexico to life in the heart of Denison.

In addition to the entertainment, festivalgoers can explore the huge art and food mercado, where you can shop for unique handmade crafts, artwork, and cultural goods. You’ll also find a variety of food vendors serving up mouthwatering Mexican dishes, from tamales to tacos and refreshing drinks to complement your meal.

Be sure to stick around for the colorful 2:00 PM parade featuring dancing horses, towering puppets, and performers in traditional dress. It’s a spectacle not to be missed!
