Celebrate a defining moment in Denison’s history at the Denison Golden Spike Day Celebration on March 21, hosted by the Red River Railroad Museum. Step back in time as Denison honors the day it first made its mark on the map.
On March 10, 1873, the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railroad connected with the Houston & Texas Central Railroad, transforming Denison into a vital crossroads linking the South with the North, East, and West. This historic rail connection helped shape Denison’s future and played a significant role in the growth of Texas and the nation.
Join us as we commemorate this milestone with historical storytelling and railroad heritage in the very place where Denison’s rail legacy lives on.
