Downtown Denison is bringing all the holiday cheer on Thursday, December 5th, with a full lineup of festive events that are sure to make this season magical! The celebration includes the 6th Annual Hot Cocoa Competition, live music and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Heritage Park, and wraps up with the 90th Annual Christmas Parade down Main Street, themed “Gingerbread Village.” Get ready for a fun-filled evening of community, holiday spirit, and family-friendly fun!

Hot Cocoa Competition

Time: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
This year marks the 6th Annual Hot Cocoa Competition by Scott Middle School’s Scott Scholars. Over the past five years, the 8th graders from Scott Scholars have raised over $70,000 for local non-profits, and they’re continuing their efforts! Join us in Heritage Park to sample delicious hot cocoa and sweet treats from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, right before the parade.

Christmas Tree Lighting and Concert

Live Music: 5:30 PM | Tree Lighting: 6:00 PM
Kick off the evening in Heritage Park with a live performance by the Shawnda Rains Entertainment Group starting at 5:30 PM. At 6:00 PM, gather around for the Christmas tree lighting with a special appearance by Santa Claus himself! The tree lighting will illuminate the park and officially ring in the holiday season.

90th Annual Christmas Parade

Time: 7:00 PM
The grand finale of the night is Denison’s 90th Annual Christmas Parade, featuring this year’s theme, “Gingerbread Village.” The parade will wind through Main Street, bringing festive floats, marching bands, and holiday cheer to the heart of Denison. Don’t miss this beloved tradition as the community comes together for a truly magical night!
